Our client is a law firm.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Lead employer-side litigation matters from the opening of a case through final resolution, owning both strategy and execution. The role also involves advising employer clients on compliance and routine workplace questions while working with partners and fellow associates in a collegial, mentorship-oriented team.

What you'll do

  • Run employment disputes end to end, covering individual claims and wage-related or class-wide defense.
  • Prepare court filings, written arguments and discovery materials, and shape the overall case approach.
  • Conduct witness examinations and represent clients in court, settlement sessions and arbitration.
  • Act for employers in proceedings before government agencies.
  • Investigate facts, evaluate claims and turn the analysis into practical recommendations for clients.
  • Advise employers of different sizes on compliance and everyday workplace issues.
  • Work closely with partners and other associates in a supportive, team-oriented setting.
  • Optionally take part in business development through writing, webinars and client presentations.

What we're looking for

  • Three to eight years of litigation experience defending employers in California workplace disputes.
  • Experience on the defense side of individual lawsuits, class actions, or both.
  • Proven ability to handle or substantially manage cases independently rather than only as a junior team member.
  • A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and a California law license in good standing.
  • Solid command of California employment and wage law.
  • Sound judgment, initiative and a collaborative style.
  • A strong service mindset with prompt, proactive client communication.
  • A stable employment history.
  • Authorization to work in the US.

Bonus points

  • Experience at a large law firm or a national employer-side boutique.
  • Experience defending representative or collective actions.

  • Paid holidays and paid time off
  • Paid parental leave
