About the company

Our client is a fast-growing software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Take ownership of a product area from start to finish, deciding what to build based on customer input and shipping it quickly. Build integrations that link outside data sources to a larger platform, with a lot of independence and occasional collaboration across other engineering groups.

What you'll do

  • Gather and prioritize customer feedback and usage signals, then ship the resulting work to production.
  • Build and release new integrations with third-party data providers.
  • Decide on the right approach behind each customer request instead of simply implementing it as asked.
  • Own the product area from start to finish with considerable independence.
  • Coordinate with other engineering teams whose work overlaps with yours.

What we're looking for

  • 3 to 8 years of experience as a backend or integrations engineer.
  • A track record of releasing customer-facing or API-based products into production.
  • Hands-on responsibility for live data flows or system integrations, from design through ongoing operation.
  • Experience working at startups or smaller companies.
  • Background in TypeScript and Node.js.
  • Comfort talking directly with customers.
  • Ability to work on-site five days a week in San Francisco, CA or Toronto, ON.
  • Authorization to work in the United States or Canada.

Bonus points

  • A computer science degree is a plus but not required.
  • Interest in AI agents and automation.
  • Familiarity with usage-based pricing, partner data arrangements or payment systems.

Benefits

  • Health, dental and vision coverage
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Paid parental leave

Location and work model

  • San Francisco, CA, United States or Toronto, ON, Canada
  • On-site, 5 days per week in office
  • Full-time

Compensation, as the posting describes it

  • Equity
  • Retirement plan
