The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Join a general-practice firm as an associate taking on a varied caseload that mixes advisory, transactional and courtroom work. You will run your own matters, work directly with clients and prepare legal paperwork, while giving added capacity to more experienced lawyers.

What you'll do

  • Take on a varied docket of corporate, local government and estate-related matters.
  • Represent clients in court hearings and build early litigation experience.
  • Meet clients, prepare legal documents and carry your own caseload from intake to resolution.
  • Assist senior lawyers who need extra bandwidth.
  • Rotate between many areas of law, including work for public bodies and companies.

What we're looking for

  • A J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • An active Pennsylvania law license, or an upcoming Pennsylvania bar exam sitting.
  • Background in corporate, public-sector or estate planning work, whether through practice or study.
  • Academic grounding in subjects such as business law, trusts and estates, or civil procedure.
  • Skill in preparing corporate and estate planning paperwork.
  • Comfort with, or interest in, practicing in a small-town firm.
  • A self-directed approach to managing a caseload daily and moving between different subject areas.
  • Sharp research, analysis, writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work fully on site; local ties or readiness to relocate are required.

Bonus points

  • Courtroom and litigation background.
  • Familiarity with case management or litigation software.
  • Mid-career lawyers from a larger city hoping to move back to the region.
  • Military service.

Location and work model

  • On-site, 5 days in office
  • Full-time
