About the company

Our client is a fast-growing financial technology company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own backend engineering for a latency-sensitive platform, with a focus on risk logic, consistent state handling and fast APIs. The role is hands-on and performance-minded, and sits within a close-knit team that works side by side in person.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain risk management services that cope with volatile conditions and use capital efficiently.
  • Design and implement state machines that support transaction processing, settlement and risk operations.
  • Develop services that keep data consistent across asynchronous processes using coordination and consensus techniques.
  • Ingest live data feeds and coordinate time-sensitive workflows across external systems.
  • Create high-performance REST and WebSocket APIs with very fast response times.

What we're looking for

  • Production experience with Rust.
  • A genuine, demonstrable interest in trading or financial markets.
  • Comfort working with several database types, including relational, time-series and key-value.
  • A track record of shipping server-side software where speed and heavy load matter.
  • Hands-on experience with asynchronous programming.
  • Prior experience working at a startup.

Bonus points

  • Self-directed projects outside of work in a systems programming language.
  • Background in latency-sensitive or trading software.
  • Experience in fintech, trading or blockchain.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental and HSA coverage

Location and work model

  • San Francisco, CA, United States
  • On-site, 5 days per week in office
  • Full-time

Compensation, as the posting describes it

  • Equity
  • Retirement plan with employer match
