Adaptive's latest funding announcement connects a specific product plan with a specific hiring geography. That makes it more useful to candidates than a generic promise to grow.
On September 17, Adaptive announced a $30 million Series B led by Tidemark. Emergence Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Pathlight, Definition, and 3KVC also participated. Adaptive says the round brings its total capital raised to $57 million.
The company builds project accounting software for construction. Its announcement describes agents that gather information from field and finance systems, prepare work across areas such as invoice coding, change orders, billing, and compliance, and leave final ledger actions for human review. Adaptive also says more than 750 construction companies use its product. Those adoption figures are company claims.
What the hiring evidence shows
Adaptive said the funding will support product expansion and growth of its Boston and New York teams. Its official careers page lists offices in both cities and a Monday through Thursday in-person schedule.
The a16z portfolio jobs board showed 11 Adaptive listings when reviewed on September 21. Current examples included Sales Engineer (Pre-Sales) in New York or Boston at $140,000 to $200,000, Customer Success Manager in Boston at $90,000 to $110,000, and Head of Marketing in New York or Boston at $310,000 to $375,000. Each linked to an Adaptive application hosted by Ashby.
The board also shows that those jobs were posted before the funding announcement. They support the claim that Adaptive is hiring in both cities and publishing role-specific ranges. They do not prove the Series B created those openings.
Candidates should verify that a listing remains active, then separate base pay, commission where applicable, and equity. I would also ask how often the role works directly with construction finance teams. In vertical software, domain access can matter as much as the model or agent architecture.
