Expedia's latest Seattle layoff notice includes finance, data science and software roles. The notice period gives affected candidates time to prepare and gives local hiring teams a clearer view of the experience that may soon become available.

Washington's Employment Security Department WARN database records receipt of the notice on September 22, 2026. That is the notice date, not the date all 58 people leave.

The Expedia letter and title attachment describe 58 permanent layoffs at 1111 Expedia Group Way West in Seattle. Separations are expected between November 21 and December 1, 2026. Expedia says affected employees are receiving at least 60 days' advance notice.

The attachment lists six Senior Finance Analyst positions and four Finance Manager positions. It also includes data scientists, software development engineers, accountants, tax leaders, and roles in sourcing, program management, risk and senior leadership. This is a mix of technical and business experience, rather than a single narrowly defined team.

The filing does not identify a business reason for these particular positions or mention AI. It says some layoffs result from, or will result in, relocation or contracting out, without identifying which roles that statement covers. It would be a stretch to turn this notice alone into a claim about AI replacing these workers.

If you are affected, use the lead time to describe your work clearly: the systems you owned, decisions you influenced, and results you can discuss without exposing internal information. If you are hiring in Seattle, look at the actual functions in the attachment rather than treating the headline number as a generic pool of candidates. The roles and expected separation dates are the practical information here.
