Not every senior AI hire lands in consumer chat. Informed has named Michael Misiewicz senior vice president of AI for work closer to lending fraud and document intelligence.

In a September 21 company announcement distributed by Business Wire, Informed said Misiewicz will lead its AI and machine-learning strategy and deepen the technology behind its fraud-detection and document-intelligence capabilities. The company said it is extending its Fraud Data Network into adjacent lending verticals while continuing to serve its auto-lending base.

The release describes Misiewicz as bringing 15 years of AI and ML leadership, including fraud-detection and anti-fraud work at Yext and AppNexus. Informed says its network is built on more than 100 million documents and 2 billion data points, and that it has automated more than $350 billion in loan originations. Those scale figures are Informed's claims, not independent measurements.

Why the mandate matters

This is a useful example of an AI leadership mandate with operational edges. Fraud detection and document intelligence touch data quality, model performance, review workflows, and lender risk. The title alone is not the story. The published scope is.

For founders, that is the hiring lesson. A vague request to "own AI" attracts a broad field. A mandate that names the problem, the users, the data constraints, and the operating partners gives experienced candidates something concrete to assess.

For candidates, a senior role in lending AI deserves questions that go beyond model choice. Ask who owns model-risk decisions, how human review is measured, what data can be used across lending products, and what success looks like after the first year.

The appointment is evidence of one defined leadership hire. It is not evidence that Informed has opened a broader hiring wave. Treat the announcement as a prompt to understand the problem the role owns, not as a shortcut to a market conclusion.
