Mecka's funding announcement gives candidates a reason to look. Its job board gives them something to work with: 51 postings, annual salary ranges in two currencies, and several details that deserve a question before an interview.
The board already had plenty of activity before the round. Count the postings as a snapshot of available applications, not as 51 new seats funded this week.
The round and the board
On October 7, 2026, Mecka announced a $60 million Series B led by Sequoia Capital. The company names NVIDIA, M12, Qualcomm Ventures and Samsung as new investors. It says the capital will expand its data infrastructure, internal research lab and commercial robot deployment.
Those priorities help explain the mix of work advertised. They do not establish a headcount budget or show which requisitions were approved after the raise.
Raydar checked Mecka's public Ashby board data on the morning of October 9. It contained 51 postings, including one General Application. Primary locations were Toronto GTA for 27 and New York for 24. Hardware Engineering accounted for 14 postings, Machine Learning & Research for eight, and Software & Data for seven. The board labeled 44 OnSite and seven Hybrid.
Mecka's careers page displayed 50 open roles and also mentioned San Francisco and Shenzhen. That is a different count and location presentation from the Ashby primary fields. Candidates should confirm the employing entity, actual office and attendance requirements for their particular role.
The board's publication timestamps run from June 1 through October 8. Using the UTC calendar dates in that metadata, 30 precede October 7, 17 fall on October 7 and four on October 8. A publication timestamp can reflect a refreshed listing. It does not prove that a job is new headcount, and a same-day timestamp does not tie it to the funding announcement.
Annual salary, with currency kept intact
All 51 postings included a component labeled Salary with a one-year interval. Twenty-five used USD and 26 used CAD. Some also listed equity without a grant size. Sales listings could include a separate commission component.
Here are selected annual Salary ranges from the New York-primary postings, in USD:
- Research Engineer, RL Env: $170,000 to $300,000, plus an equity label.
- Research Scientist, SLAM & VIO: $200,000 to $250,000, plus an equity label.
- Senior Software Engineer, Backend: $180,000 to $250,000, plus an equity label.
- Forward Deployed Robotics Engineer: $120,000 to $180,000, plus an equity label.
- Account Executive, Data Partnerships: $100,000 to $110,000 Salary, with a separate $20,000 to $30,000 annual commission range and an equity label.
- Data Partnerships Lead: $120,000 to $140,000 Salary, with a separate $45,000 to $65,000 annual commission range and an equity label.
Two Toronto GTA-primary examples use CAD:
- Hardware, Special Projects Lead: CA$180,000 to CA$240,000, plus an equity label.
- Computer Vision Engineer, 3D: CA$200,000 to CA$230,000, plus an equity label.
The $300,000 figure is the highest USD Salary ceiling in this snapshot. It is not a promise for every engineer or a measure of total compensation. Keep the source's Salary label when comparing offers. A separate commission range does not establish quota attainment, payout rules or a confirmed OTE.
Two labels to resolve before comparing offers
Research Scientist, Hand Tracking & Manipulation shows a USD Salary floor of $170 and ceiling of $210,000. That is the disclosed value. Its intent is unknown; ask Mecka for the approved range instead of silently adding zeros.
Research Scientist, Body Pose Detection is Toronto GTA-primary but lists USD150,000 to USD200,000 annually. Location alone does not tell you the currency. Confirm both currency and employing entity in writing.
For a forward deployed candidate, the useful questions are specific: how much travel, which customer sites, who owns delivery, and what equity is actually offered? Mecka's $120,000 to $180,000 annual Salary range can sit alongside the historical examples in Raydar's published FDE pay comparison, provided you retain each posting's pay label and observation date.
For a recruiter, ask whether a requisition is new headcount, a backfill or a refresh, and whether its published range is approved today. A funding announcement is useful context. The confirmed role, pay components and working arrangement are what a candidate can make a decision on.
