Quartermaster's headline number is $140 million, but the financing is not a $140 million Series B.
On September 28, 2026, founder and CEO Neil Sobin wrote that Quartermaster raised a $100 million Series B led by Insight Partners, with new participation from Overmatch Ventures, plus a separate $40 million venture debt facility from Stifel. First Round Capital, Quiet Capital, Steel Atlas, TMV, and others also returned. The company says it plans to grow engineering headcount and recruit more vessels. That stated plan should not be confused with proof that the round produced today's openings.
The Quartermaster Ashby board listed 13 full-time roles on September 28. Nine were in Arlington, Virginia. The other four were Head of Launch positions for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, plus a Field Operations Lead for the Arabian Gulf. The technical mix included applied machine learning, full-stack software, embedded systems, mechanical engineering, internal tooling, and technical program management.
Eight Arlington postings published annual base salary ranges. The Recruiter role listed $120,000 to $160,000, Applied Machine Learning Engineer listed $200,000 to $235,000, and Senior Full Stack Software Engineer listed $210,000 to $260,000. Five listings showed no salary band. The postings date from July 17 through September 25, so every one predates the financing announcement.
For candidates, the board is more useful than the round size. Ask whether the specific role's budget changed after the financing, how equity is set, and how much travel or customer-site work is expected. For founders, the split matters too: equity and debt carry different obligations, and neither should be used as a shortcut for hiring demand. Its 13 listed roles, their locations, and published base pay give candidates a useful starting point for that conversation.
