A funding announcement is more useful when the company names the team it has, the team it wants, and where it expects that growth to happen. Spott did all three.

On September 22, Spott announced a $21 million Series A led by Balderton Capital, with Base10, Y Combinator, and Fortino participating again. Spott says the round brings total funding to $24.2 million. The company builds an ATS and CRM for recruitment agencies. It also reports more than 500 agency customers and revenue growth of more than tenfold since the start of 2026. Those are company claims, not independently audited results.

The hiring plan is unusually specific. Spott says it intends to build teams in New York and Sydney and grow from 44 people to more than 60 by year end. It attributes 20% of current revenue to New York and 15% to Sydney.

What is open now

Spott's careers page listed five openings when reviewed on September 22: Head of Product in Leuven, Founding Account Executive in New York, Business Development Representative in Leuven, Account Executive for French-speaking markets in Leuven, and Account Executive in Sydney.

The current board shows a product leadership hire at the Belgian base and commercial hires across each region. It does not show every position needed to move from 44 to more than 60 employees. More openings may follow, or some growth may come through roles that are not publicly listed.

For candidates, I would ask what founding means in New York or Sydney. Are you designing the regional playbook, or executing one that already works in Europe? Ask which decisions stay with Leuven, how customers are handed between regions, and what success looks like before the office has a larger team.

For founders, this is the useful standard: connect hiring geography to an operating reason, then keep the careers page current enough for candidates to test the plan.
